Irene was born in Gimli, MB, on May 15, 1919, to loving parents, Joseph and Anna Mosalowski and was the second youngest of seven children. She leaves to cherish her memories, companion Anthony Melnyk, who doted on her and cared for her so lovingly and compassionately; daughter Darlene (Barry) Schmidt who she always referred to as her miracle; granddaughters, Laurel (Art) Whittington, Lisa (Barry) Lane and great-grandchildren, Tanner and Carly Lane and Alex Whittington. She is also survived by her two precious sisters, Rose Dutchak and Helen Sigurdur; sisters-in-law, Dora Mosalowski and Doreen Moss all of Gimli; brother-in-law Stan Stojak; sisters-in law, Sadie (Nick) Cochrane and Annie Waletsky; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States. Irene was a born saleswoman, finding her niche in the real estate industry some 45 years ago. She won numerous awards for her accomplishments and selling homes to second and third generations was an indication that she was well respected and trusted by her hundreds of clients over the years. She was a member of the Manitoba Real Estate Association, the Canadian Real Estate Association and an Honorary Life Member of the Winnipeg Real Estate Board. She had a heart of gold, always sharing her bounty with family and friends. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses throughout the Victoria Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
