Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH SNOW (nee GRAHAM) It is with deep sadness that on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 the family announces the sudden passing of Edith Harriett Snow, at the age of 82 years. Edith was predeceased by her husband Bill; daughter Janette Thompson; sister Anna Robinson; brother George Graham; and parents, Harriett and David Graham. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Judith and husband George Verhaeghe, grandsons, Jeffrey and Chris; Linda and husband Bill Adams, granddaughter Corey; son-in-law Herb Thompson and grandson Vaughn. She is also survived by three sons, Wayne and wife Lynette, grandchildren, Bridgette and Tyler; Brian and wife Debbie, grandsons, Jamie and Derek; Mark and wife Janie, stepchildren, Collin, Derek, and Melodie, granddaughter Taylor. Edith will also be sadly missed by two special sisters-in-law, Lois Snow and Bernice Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. She was so happy to also enjoy the company and love of her two cousins, Georgina Butcher and Evelyn Parton. For the past three years, Edith had made her home in a suite at the Pioneer Lodge in Birtle, MB. There, she had enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of all her friends. Her favourite pastime was playing cards. She enjoyed having company drop in for a visit and have a cup of tea or coffee. Her next door neighbour, Hazel Cottingham, was a very special friend, and how she loved her homemade soup! Edith travelled east and west for many years to see her daughters and sons, and her daughter Linda had taken her on two very special trips - one to Expo 67 and one to Hawaii. She loved to read, crochet, and was a wonderful cook (she was known for her homemade buns). Edith belonged to Eastern Star for almost 50 years. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m. from the Birtle United Church, Birtle, with Rev. Scott Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in the Birtle Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Birtle District Hospital Palliative Care Unit. You will always be remembered and loved by your children. Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone, Its part of the Masters plan, A step on the road to home. So, when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrows In doing good deeds, Miss me - but let me go. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake are in care of the arrangements. (204) 759-2160.
