AUGUSTE GEORGES (GUS) November 22, 1917- December 21, 2001 Auguste Arnal was born in Fannystelle, MB. He received his education at the Chapel House, St. Boniface College (B.A.) and at the University of Manitoba (BSc in Agriculture). He began his career as the agricultural representative Saint-Pierre-Jolys where he met Marthe Peloquin. They were married on October 16, 1943. Upon his return from the Second World War, he became the agricultural representative in Ste. Rose du Lac. Gus spent the rest of his life in this region, whose people and progress grew dear to his heart. His commitment and dedication to the community were demonstrated during his time as Mayor, President of the Turtle River School Division and in his work with the Knights of Columbus, The Royal Canadian Legion and a host of community organizations. He leaves to mourn his spouse Marthe; his children, Colette (Ottawa), Michele (London, UK), and Marc, his spouse Rashmi Joshee and their children, Anuradha, Daniel and Gabriel (Edmonton). All those who knew him can attest to his friendship, his dedication and his love of life. Tous ceux et celles qui lont connu temoigneront de son amitie, de son devouement, et de son amour de la vie. The celebration of his life will take place on December 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ste. Rose du Lac Roman Catholic church followed by a reception at the community hall. The family request that donations be made in his memory to St. Boniface College, 200 Cathedral Ave., St. Boniface, MB, to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank relatives and friends who have been so generous with their love and support.
