JOHN GILBERT SKEET Peacefully, on Friday, December 21, 2001 at the Grace Hospital, John Gilbert Skeet of Fort Alexander passed away at the age of 73 years. John was born at Fort Alexander on April 28, 1928 and had resided there his entire life. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved trapping. John was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed his wood working. Fort Alexander will miss him at their bingo games which he loved very much. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his beloved wife Dorothy of 41 years; two sons, Johnny and adopted son Robert; two daughters, Celine and Lorna; three foster daughters, Cheryl, Patty and Robin; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jessie and William Skeet; and six brothers. Wake services will be held at his residence, house No. 169 South Shore, Fort Alexander, on Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Church Anglican, Fort Alexander, MB with Rev. Nancy Bruyere officiating. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons. Special thanks to the Pine Falls Hospital and the Grace Hospital for their care and kindness given to John.
