JOHN ROBERT BROOKS It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on December 23, 2001. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Jean and his children, Larry, Jim and Jo-Ann; along with granddaughter Jayme-Jo and many other grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise Little and Hazel Wallace. Born August 8, 1930, John was raised in Prescott, ON. In his late teens he moved to Winnipeg, MB. Living in Brooklands he was actively involved with the community and had a seat on the town council for many years. He was also president of the Brooklands Rod and Gun Club. John was employed at Burns Meats for 35 years and retired in 1987. This was the year he moved out to Lac du Bonnet where he enjoyed fishing, bowling, curling, cribbage and hunting. He made many friends in Lac du Bonnet and was thoroughly enjoying his retirement. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Club in Lac du Bonnet.
