Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELLEN JEAN (JIGGS) CRAIG Peacefully at her residence at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, Portage la Prairie, MB on Saturday, December 22, 2001 Ellen Jean (Jiggs) Craig passed to eternal rest at the age of 78 years. Friends may call for a time of visitation at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 26 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted by Judy Limpright of the Oakville United Church on Thursday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m. from McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. A reception and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service in the Reception Room at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel with cremation to follow. Interment will take place in the family plot at the Oakville Cemetery, Oakville, MB at a later date. Jiggs leaves to cherish her loving memory and to mourn her passing her daughter Brenda and son-in-law Donnie Cameron of Poplar Point, MB; her daughter Cappy and son-in-law Garth Hamilton of Estevan, SK; her two grandchildren, Cindy Cameron of Winnipeg and Darren and wife Krista Cameron, also of Winnipeg, and her very dear sister, Mabel Thornton of Portage la Prairie. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Bella Miller; by her first husband Harry Thornton in 1946 and by her second husband, William "Bill" Craig in 1991. Jiggs was born and raised on the family farm in the Fortier/Mill Creek District. She resided in the area most of her life until moving to the Duchess Apartments in Portage in 1996, where she lived until taking residence in the Douglas Campbell Lodge in July of 2001. As expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Jiggs memory to The Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Jiggs by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel who are entrusted with the arrangements. 857-4021.
