STANISLAW (STAN) KOCIOLEK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, a caring father and devoted grandfather, Stanislaw Kociolek, on Sunday, December 23, 2001 at the age of 86 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Stefania, his daughter Rozia (Michael) and son Kasmir (Judy) and also his three grandchildren, Andrew, Krystle and Nicholas, who will always remember him as Dziadzio. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rosalia Kociolek; his two brothers, Steven and Marian; and sister Zosia. Stan was born on April 18, 1915 in the city of Warsaw, Poland. He served in the Second World War in the First Regiment of the Heavy Anti-aircraft Artillery. In 1946 he left England to come to Canada where he had worked first on a beet farm for two years and then for the Canadian Pacific Railway. In the fall of 1949 he met his future bride Stefania and they later married in January 1950. After retiring in 1983 from the CPR he began to enjoy life to the fullest. Being an active member of SPK and the Legion, travelling to the cottage during the summer months and spending time with his grandchildren, watching them grow. A simple man, enjoying a simple life. We wish to thank the nurses of Seven Oaks Hospital, units 3 and 1. To the pallbearers, Tom, Greg and Ed Szczepanski, Waclaw Kuzia, Ted Bekus, and John Warzel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that friends make donations in Stans memory to the Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2W 2L8. Prayers will be held on Thursday, December 27, at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Wieczny odpoczynek racz Mu dac Panie, a swiatlosc wiekuista niechaj Mu swieci na wieki wiekow, Amen. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
