ELLA EFFIE SUTHERLAND (nee CAMERON) Peacefully on 21st day, December, 2001 at Oakview Place, Ella Effie Sutherland, nee Cameron, of Winnipeg, formerly London, ON and Calgary passed away in her 97th year. Wife of the late John (Jack) Sutherland; dearly loved mother of Sheila Fowler and husband Donald of St. Thomas, ON and Donald Sutherland and wife Carole of Winnipeg; dear sister of Kenneth Cameron of Ottawa and grandmother of Linda Mulawka (Gary), Frances MacEwan (Bailey), Donald Fowler, Jr. (Lisa), Cameron Sutherland (Janet), Garth Sutherland (Tanya) and Gary Sutherland. Also survived by one great-great-grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son David Sutherland of Calgary and brothers, Donald, Norman and Philip Cameron. While living in Calgary and especially after her son David passed away, Ella received tremendous support from neighbours, friends, fellow church members and her nephew John and his wife Dorothy. The family is grateful for all the help provided to Ella. The family also would like to thank the staff of Oakview Place in Winnipeg, especially the staff of One East and North, for their kindness and care of Ella. She resided at Oakview from February 1998 until she passed away. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
