George and Dora farmed for almost 40 years until they retired to Grandview. Dora enjoyed her industrious life farming and raising four children. After her husband died in 1966, Dora pursued an active life in Grandview, gardening, making new and maintaining old friendships, and doing volunteer work in St. Elias Church and in the Grandview community. Doras home was the centre of her life, and she was a gracious hostess. In retirement, Dora travelled extensively within North America and Europe, usually with her daughter Madeline and son-in-law Jeff. She savoured her experiences of different cultures. She was 84 when she made her last trip overseas. Dora valued her independence and stayed alone in her own house until almost 95. She was devoted to her family and loyal to her friends. Dora was a very spiritual person, and was prayerful until the last hours of her life. The family wishes to thank Doras caregivers in Grandview, Dauphin and Winnipeg.
