Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALIDA GENDREAU (nee LAPORTE) Peacefully on Friday December 21, 2001, at the Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home. Alida was born on June 19, 1899, in the Municipality of Ritchot. She worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia until her marriage to Georges Gendreau in 1939. They lived in St. Norbert, MB, where they raised their daughter Claire. Following the passing of Georges in 1953, Alida began to work at the Municipality of Fort Garry until her retirement. Alida is survived by son-in-law Michael Bartmanovich and family; nephew Guy Laporte and wife Gisele in Montreal and niece Therese Laporte-Benoit and husband Raymond of Quebec City. She was predeceased by her husband Georges, sister Alice, brother Napoleon and daughter Claire. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vital Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., presided by Father Patrick Morand, on Saturday, December 29 at 9:00 a.m. Tea and coffee to follow at the Eagles Club, 3459 Pembina Hwy., at 10:30 a.m. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in the family plot at the St. Norbert Cemetery.
