Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE GOMOR Catherine Gomor, nee Katie Gera, passed away peacefully December 22, 2001 in her 92nd year. Katie was predeceased by her husband John; parents, Frank and Katalin Gera; sister Mary Gall; brothers, Joseph, Michael and Frank Gera; son-in-law Roger Gaudreau; and granddaughter Debra Martin. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Elizabeth (Albert) Martin and Margaret Gaudreau; foster daughter Emma (James) Taylor; foster sons, David Zawatsky and Steve Connell. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lise and Henry Dorn, Albert and Liz Martin, Robert Martin, Eleanor and Roman Hrabowych, Cathy and Mark Freedman, Patti and Dave Lesey and their respective families, and numerous nieces and nephews. Katie was born in Arad Varos, Hungary on March 9, 1909. She arrived in Canada June 21, 1909, lived part of her childhood in Saskatchewan, later moving to Manitoba where she spent the rest of her days. For the last four years, she resided at Kildonan Personal Care Centre, making many friends and participating in various activities. Family and friends were very important to Katie. She was the "ultimate grandma", known for her generosity, and will be lovingly remembered for her exceptional cooking talents and flair for crocheting, knitting, sewing and gardening. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. with one-half hour viewing prior to the service at St. Alphonsus Church, 341 Munroe Ave., East Kildonan, with Br. Jorge Villegas, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice. Special thanks to the staff on 2 for their wonderful care. Pallbearers will be Roman Hrabowych, Mark Freedman, David Lesey, Albert Martin Jr., David Zawatsky, Justin Rogers.
