DOROTHY MacINTOSH (nee FRY) "NANNY" After a lengthy illness, our Mom passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital on Sunday, December 23, 2001, attended by family. Mom was born on September 10, 1919 in Edinbridge, Kent, England and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Fry. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Arthur and sister Molly. She is survived by her brothers, Godfrey (Joan) and Douglas (Peggy) and sisters, Peggy (Harold) and Sheila, all of England. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Janice Kupchik (Steven), Barry (Diane), Douglas (Laurie), Ronald and Diana-Lynne Cholosky (Gary) also by their father, Campbell; and her 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and her many friends. Mom came to Canada at the conclusion of the Second World War as a young war bride. She was especially proud of belonging to the Canadian War Brides Association and her affiliation with the Royal Canadian Legion as well as the Army and Navy and all that they stand for. Mom was blessed with a talent for cooking and baking and enjoyed doing both. For many years, the family was anchored around Nannys special Sunday meals. The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Ryckman, and all of the other health care staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. A special thank you to all of Moms friends who took the time to visit during her illness. She enjoyed the visits and was comforted by them. A service in celebration of Moms life will be held Friday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church, Selkirk. If friends so desire, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moms memory to Christ Church, 227 McLean Ave., Selkirk, R1A 0T7. To our Mom and Nanny: Youll be missed terribly but we take comfort in knowing that your new home is grander, your new life more splendid, your new world much lighter and warmer than this. Dont think of us that you left behind. Well be fine and all will be so beautiful when we embrace again. Until then, rest in peace and know that you are loved so very, very much. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
