God saw you getting tired And the pain you had to bear He saw the battle you were facing would be too much for anyone to bear. He saw your heart so frail yet He answered your prayer As your children gathered around, their love gave you the strength you needed to carry you through the surgery. Tired and weary you made no fuss But tried so hard to stay with us In tears we saw you fading Our hearts were almost broken What you suffered, you told so few. As we wept in the chapel for Jesus to take your heart in His hands He knew what was best. So He closed His arms around you And whispered, "Come to Me". When we saw you sleeping so peaceful, and free from pain We would not wish you back To suffer all that again So treasure him, Lord, In your garden of rest For here on earth He was the Best.
