Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMABEL CAMERON Mrs. Mabel Cameron passed away on December 23, 2001. Mabel was born in Teulon, MB October 28, 1905, the second youngest of nine children of Lars Magnus Nilsson (Nelson) and Ingrid Nilsson Magnusson. A immigrant family from Sweden who homesteaded in the Teulon area near Westerham School. Mabel was married to Findlay Mathewson Cameron an immigrant from Scotland. Mabel had a happy married life even though Fin served overseas from 1940-1945. Mabel received her teachers training in the Normal School in Winnipeg and taught in rural Manitoba schools until her marriage. She was a member of the Strinberg Sisters, a Winnipeg Swedish ladies organization and helped out with their activities at Vasalund. She was also a long-time member of the St. James Canadian Daughters, and the United Church in St. James. Mabel is survived by her sister Alice Howard in Winnipeg; her son, daughter-in-law and great-granddaughter, Don, Zella and Kyla Cameron in Moose Jaw; her granddaughter Pat Onreat and her husband, Alan in Lethbridge; her grandson Neil Cameron and his wife Cindy and their three children, Meghan, Matthew and Robbie in Saskatoon; her granddaughter Sheila Fleischhacker and her husband Grant and their two boys, Dillon and Eric in Saskatoon and her great-grandson Justin Morrison in Saskatoon. Following cremation a memorial service will beheld at the W.J. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapelette, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Friday, December 28 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Dr. Bob Kimmerly will officiate. Interment will later follow at the Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Winnipeg, where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband Findlay.
