IRENE MARIE LAMBERT nee MAYER (MEILLEUR) Peacefully on December 26, 2001 at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Adelard (Eddy) three children; her parents, Louis and Angelina (Hiebert) Mayer; sister Jane; brothers, Marcel, Raymond, Philip, Narcisse, Henry and Ralph. She is survived by her son Joe; daughters, Kathleen, Elaine (Ron) and Debbie; her sisters, Melina, Marie, Florence and Lillian; her brothers, Art and Gilbert; her grandchildren, Michelle (Shawn), Ronald, Adam, Leta, Lynn, Niki, Renee and Roland. Mom was a loving and generous person who opened her heart and home to everyone. Many thanks to the homecare people who looked after her for the short time she was at home. Thank you to the wonderful nurses on the fourth floor of the Grace who went out of their way to make sure she was being comfortable. To, Sharon, Walter and Lorraine a special thanks for being such good friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 31 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington St. Interment to follow luncheon at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
