Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVER ROBERT McKAY Accidentally on Monday, December 24, 2001, at Pine Dock, MB, Oliver Robert McKay of Bloodvein passed away at the age of 21 years. Oliver was born at Winnipeg on October 12, 1980, spending most of his life in Berens River. Oliver loved the outdoors and was a fishermans helper on Lake Winnipeg since the age of 12 years. He was last employed for Wayne and Bernice Whiteway, who treated him with loving care and kindness. He recently learned carpentry and worked as a carpenter for Bloodvein First Nations. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his mother Doris; father Leslie Sr.; adopted mother Lena McKay; grandmother Florence Orvis; and adopted grandmother Janet Deaffie; adopted sister Randi; five sisters, Cheryl (Clifford), Joyce (Larry), Nina, Matilda Raven (Albert), and Viola Green (Wilmar) three brothers, Leslie Jr. (Lillian), Edwin McKay, and Peter (Samantha)Oliver and Peter grew up together in the same adopted family; special friends, Conrad Dunsford, William Young, Kelvin Raven, Galvin Green, and Daniel Ross Jr. There are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Oliver was predeceased by his late adopted father Ernie McKay November 2, 1998; grandfather James McKay May 17, 1985; and grandmother Nina McKay September 2, 1980; grandfather Peter Orvis; uncle Alex McKay November 23, 1994; cousins, Connie McKay November 8, 1999, and Bonnie McKay September 23, 1998. Wake services will be held on Friday, December 28, Saturday, December 29, Sunday, December 30 at Berens River House of Prayer, Berens River, MB. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m., also at the House of Prayer in Berens River with Pastor Maurice McKay officiating. Interment to follow at Berens River Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Cheryl Everette, Joyce Green, Nina Green, Lisa Everette, Brenda McKay, and Phyllis Cameron.
