JOHN OTCHENASH Mr. John Otchenash, beloved husband of Kay (Katherine) of Hubbard, SK, passed away December 25, 2001 in Melville, SK at the age of 80. He was born in Skolin, Ukraine on September 2, 1921. He immigrated to Parkerview district of Saskatchewan at the age of eight and helped on the family farm for many years. He lived in various towns, including Beckingham, Virden and Poplar Point, before moving to Winnipeg. He married Kay Shubaly in 1962. John was employed by the Sterling Stall Co. in Winnipeg for many years. The couple retired in 1985 to Hubbard. He is survived by his wife Kay, two daughters, Donna Goring (John) of Victoria, B.C., Karen Shubaly-Molnar (Rory Molnar) of Winnipeg; one son Garry Shubaly of Calgary; grandchildren, Jared and Robin Goring and Matthew Molnar; sisters, Sophie Winnicki, Ollie Farand and Marie Carscadden; brothers, William, Albert and Andrew. He was predeceased by a brother Matt and his parents, Ksenia and Zachary. Dad, your love and laughter will always be remembered. Prayer services will be held on Friday, December 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hubbard, SK. Requiem Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church. Interment in the Hubbard Cemetery. Donations may be made to a Catholic charity of choice.
