Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTEENIE McELROY (nee ZEBRUN) January 15, 1914 - December 29, 2001 On December 29, 2001 at the Riverview Health Centre, Teenie McElroy passed away at the age of 87 years. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Edward; and brothers-in-law, George Taylor and Harry Strange; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Alex; sisters Pauline, Lena and Janet, her parents, in-laws Bertha L. Strange, Joseph E. McElroy (Wilda) and Edwards parents. Teenie attended Wesley College (now University of Winnipeg) and started her working career at CNT in 1941, retiring in 1976 after 35 years. She was a generous person and always was willing to help anyone in need. Teenie had two important charities she supported over the years; Billy Graham Evangelist Association and World Literature Crusade. Being a deeply religious person, she always put her trust in the Lord and knew He would answer her prayers. She read the Bible faithfully everyday and could quote many verses and psalms from the Bible in her younger years. She always kept Bible promises from Billy Graham Evangelist Association in a special case to this day and one of her favourites was "Only one life twill soon be past, only whats done for Christ will last". "To me to live is Christ". Teenies hobbies were making outfits and dressing dolls, knitting, crocheting and especially needle point, having many of her projects framed and adorning the walls in her apartment. Teenie enjoyed golf and was a member of Pine Ridge for many years, playing with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling, and races at Assiniboia Downs. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, January 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the Riverview Health Centre Chapel, 1 Morley Ave. The family wishes to thank CD3 for their care and compassion during her stay there. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Teenie may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay You faced your task with courage Your spirit did not bend But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired So He put his arms around you And whispered "Come with Me." So when we saw you sleeping So peaceful free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer again. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same As God calls us one by one Our chain will link again. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
