MICHAEL FRANK SOBIE 1919-2001 Peacefully of Friday, December 28, 2001, Michael Frank Sobie passed away at the age of 82 years. Michael will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 57 years, Adeline; children, Richard Sobie (Linda), Bernadine Brown (Brian), Jeffrey Sobie (Rhonda) of Winnipeg, Jennifer Shymko (Glenn) of Selkirk, son-in-law Garwood Robb; ten grandchildren, two great-grandsons, one sister, Angela Borrow of Calgary, numerous friends and relatives as well as his faithful dog, Minnie. Michael was predeceased by his daughter Marilyn, six brothers and one sister. Michael was born on February 18, 1919, the youngest of nine children. He was a lifelong member of St. John Cantius Church, St. John Cantius Fraternal Aid Society, and the Canadian Polish Athletic Club. He married Adeline Walus on August 3, 1944 and at that time served in the Armed Forces. He worked at Mitchell Copp Jewellers for many years. After upgrading his schooling, Michael was a painter at ABEX Industries in Selkirk until he retired in 1984. Dad always looked forward to spending time with his family of whom he was very proud. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at St. John Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Ave. at 10:00 a.m. with viewing prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Sobie, Adrian Brown, Lauren Robb, Ken Walus, Tom Walus, and Anthony Gurniak. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6 or a charity of their choice. He will be dearly missed by all of us but his love will remain in our hearts forever. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
