JOHN D. BLYTH Peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2001 at St. Boniface General Hospital, John Davidson Blyth, aged 87 of Winnipeg beloved husband of Antoinette (Teena) Blyth. Jack is survived by his brother William D. Blyth of Toronto; nieces, Rosemary Covert (husband Jim), Barbara Maxwell (husband Bill), Stephanie Oxley (husband Jamie) grand-niece Jennifer Covert and grand-nephews, Andrew Covert and David and Matthew Oxley; cousin Blyth Gallaher and second cousin Stacey Baker (husband Steve) his stepdaughter Carol Heppenstall; her children, Darcy Erickson (husband Grant) and Mark Heppenstall and Stepson David Johnston (wife Colleen). He was predeceased by his father John Blyth and mother Margaret Milne Davidson of Winnipeg. Jack attended Earl Grey and Kelvin High Schools. For many years he was an investment counselor and retired from Dominion Securities, Ames in 1982. A life member of the Fort Garry Lodge AF and AN, he was Past Thrice Puissant Grand Master of the Scottish Rite and a member of Khartum Temple of the Shrine. During the Big Band era, Jack played clarinet for many Winnipeg orchestras, including the Actimists. He was an avid skier and golfer and was a long time member of the St. Charles Country Club. After retirement, Jack was a tax advisor for H&R Block and volunteered as a Mason car driver for Cancer Care Manitoba for 14 years. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Private interment at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB, R3E 0V9.
