Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY JANE (GINA) PLESA Mary Jane (Gina) Plesa, beloved wife of Nikola of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on December 28, 2001 after a short battle with Scleroderma at the age of 61 years. Gina will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Nikola of forty years; her three children, Linda (Drago Crnkovic), John (Maria Plesa) and Anne Marie (Tim Richardson) and eight grandchildren, Carlo, Franco, Nicole, Nicholas, Matthew, Peter, Cole and Sidnee. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Videtich of ON; a brother, Martin Videtich of Montreal, QC; a sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Bob Bradford of Pennsylvania and nieces: Helen, Andrea and nephews: John, Greg, Mark and Kenny. Gina was predeceased by her father, Martin; a sister Mary; a brother-in-law, Louis; two nephews, Louis and Paul and a sister-in-law, Thelma. Gina arrived in Calgary in 1959 from Noranda, QC, marrying Nikola in 1961. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She volunteered with a number of Croatian organizations including the Croatian Soccer Club, Kolo Group Vila Velebita, Our Lady Of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church and the Croatian Heritage Society. She was also president of the Western Canadian Croatian Folklore Federation and had a huge involvement with the Bingo Association, as well as many other organizations outside the Croatian community. Gina was a true ambassador through her coordination and preservation of the Croatian and Canadian cultures. Relatives and friends are invited to prayers and tributes at Our Lady Of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church, (14680 Deer Ridge Drive S.E.) on Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church, (14680 Deer Ridge Drive S.E.) on Friday, January 4, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Vel. Domin Vladic and Fra. Dujo Boban presiders. Graveside service to follow at Queens Park Mausoleum. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Unit 74 and ICU at the Rockyview General Hospital.
