RUTH SMITH (CRACKSTON) (nee ATCHISON) November 6, 1918 - December 30, 2001 Peacefully, on December 30, 2001, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Ruth Smith passed away. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, a brother and sister, first husband Stan Crackston in 1960, and second husband Don Smith in 1981. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Pat Crackston, dear grandson Colin, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Ruth and her family greatly appreciated the kindness of her dear friend Eva (Dave) Hiebert, who was always there for her. Mom was close to her neighbours, Rene and Cindy Schulz and their three children who called her Grandma and gave her joy and excitement on their visits. Ruth was a longtime member of the Fort Rouge Legion. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their care. According to Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
