Tom was born in Winnipeg on March 25, 1923. He learned carpentry and attention to detail from his father. His precision served him well as a pilot in the RCAF during the Second World War. Tom worked for 38 years at the Manitoba Telephone System, in the engineering and personnel departments, where he made long-time friends. He retired in 1980 and for several years worked as a cook in a day care making lunch everyday for thirty kids. He enjoyed a long retirement turning his attention to skiing, computing, playing the piano, working out at the Reh-Fit Centre-he was interested in so many things. His family relied on him for so much, from verandah building to wiring rooms to developing tax programs for his Timex-Sinclair, to just being there. Every project was completed with meticulous care and craftsmanship. He offered his time selflessly and with much love. He tackled every project or problem, including his health, with determination and creativity. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Januuary 5, 2:00 p.m. at St. Bartholomews Anglican Church on 881 Autumnwood Drive. If yo wish, we would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre in Toms memory. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
