FREDRICK GEORGE MOORE It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Fred Moore on Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at the age of 73. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully in his sleep at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years Lorraine; daughter Colleen (Rick) son Jim (Melanie) and granddaughter Hannah; brothers and sisters, Arthur Moore, Nellie Sherrin (Ron), Alfie Moore (Esther), Winnie Peterson (Ed), Joyce Kelunick (Mo), and many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his sisters, Ethel Stephens, Margie Dale, and Doris Gross. Fred was born in Winnipeg on August 24, 1928 and grew up in St. James. He will be remembered as a gentle man with a great sense of humour. Fred was a dedicated employee of MTS for 36 years and was also a member of the St. Vital Legion. He enjoyed spending the summers at Lee River where he was a champion horseshoer. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Monday afternoon bowling league at the St. Vital Bowl. Fred also enjoyed watching golf, curling, and Blue Jays baseball with his son. He will remain forever in our hearts. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff in the Palliative Care Ward of the St. Boniface Hospital for their personal care and kindness. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Monday, January 7 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation in Freds memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
