ELWOOD MARSHALL McIVOR Passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2002, at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 90 years. Elwood is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Florence; children, Donalene (Bob) Flockton of Belair, MB, Cheryl (Ed) Roy of Winnipeg, MB; daughter-in-law Sherry McIvor of Nelson, BC; sons, Norman (Lila) of Ottawa, ON, Ken (Erna) of Calgary, AB, and Glenn (Jackie) of Winnipeg, MB; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Besides his immediate family, he is survived by four brothers, Edgar (Gladys) of Winnipeg, MB, Mervin of LaFleche, SK, Gordon of Mankota, SK, and Angus (Alice) of LaFleche, SK. Elwood was predeceased by his parents Helena and Marshall McIvor; two sisters, Marion (Clarence) Ackerman and Evelyn (Sidney) Summers and son Robert in 1986. Elwood was born December 10, 1911, in Woodrow, SK, and moved to Winnipeg in 1935, where he met and married Florence in 1938. Dad worked for CNR for 34 years, retiring as a Locomotive Engineer in 1976. All his grandchildren will miss Grandpas hugs and kisses. Pallbearers will be Jason McIvor, Kale McIvor, Drew McIvor, Chris Welenchenko, Michael Hrynenko and Murray McIvor. A celebration of Elwoods life will be held on Saturday, January 5 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing to commence at 1:30 p.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. If so desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8, or the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals for the care that was provided to Dad over the last several years.
