MARY VIDRUK With great sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother Mary on January 1, 2002 at Tache Centre, where she had resided since April 1998. She was predeceased by her dear husband Michael of October 27, 1972, and a loving son Kasmer on October 21, 1986. Mary was born on March 4, 1904 in Lithuania. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and son Kas in 1928. They had three children, Kas (Phyllis), daughter Virginia (Bill) Ozuk, and son Ed (Janice) from Madison, WI. She had eight grandchildren, Cheryl, Robyn (Gary), Michael (Margaret), Sheila, Beverley, Gary (Kim), Steven (Angie), and Maria. She also had 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her humility, marvellous sense of humour and gentle soul will be missed. Mom and Baba enjoyed her garden and working around with her flowers. She was always busy cooking and loved to have the family come over. We got together on Christmas Eve when Dad was alive. Mom and Dad had a cottage at Grand Beach where they enjoyed going in the summer. They loved going swimming and for walks and sitting in the park. The family would like to thank the staff on 3ABC for their care, kindness and compassion during Moms later years of life. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made in memory of Mary Vidruk to the Tache Centre Fund, in care of Tache Centre, 185 Despins St., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2B3. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4 at 10:00 a.m. from Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St., with viewing at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A gathering of family and friends will follow. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll-free 1-888-233-4949.

  • I typed in Robyn's name in hopes of reconnecting and sadly her Grandma's obituary came up. I don't know if there is any way of contacting her through this comment but wanted to try Lauretta Zmanering (bed Ross) - Posted by: Lauretta Manering (Old friend of Robyn's) on: Nov 09, 2014
