Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN WALTER WORTHINGTON John Walter Worthington, our beloved father, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2002 at the age of 80. Eileen, his loving wife of 44 years, his beloved son Wayne and his siblings, Tommy, Caval, Ruth and Isabelle predeceased him. John is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughters, Joan (Ed), Bunny (Bruce) and his two grandchildren, Brendan and Shannon. One sister Hazel Gray of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. John was born and raised in Winnipeg. He was one of six children born to Walter and Bella Worthington. As a boy his interests included swimming and diving. He served in the army reserves as a young man before joining the CNR as a switchman where he worked till his retirement. John was a loving husband and father. He deeply cared about his family and gave of himself unselfishly. He had a great sense of humour, which was greatly enjoyed by family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Rest in Peace Dad. We Love You. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3J2. Funeral service for John will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Friday, January 4 at 12:30 p.m. Interment and reception will follow.
