BELLA JOSEPHINE ERICKSON Suddenly on January 3, 2002, with her family at her side, at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB, Bella Josephine Erickson, aged 69 years of Lundar, MB. Bella was born and raised in the Lundar District. As a young woman, she was a cook and cleaning lady at several large farms in the Lundar District. Later on, she met and married John Erickson (G.J.). Bella was the definition of a homemaker and loved to take care of everyones needs. Bella grew up with a love for music, especially the "old-time" music. This love stayed with her and her family to this day. Bella thrived on the company of family and friends with whom she loved to tease and joke and enjoyed telling stories of the "olden days" which fascinated them with her many tales. Bella was a fantastic cook and baker. Her homemade bread and vinetarta was indeed a special treat for all the many who sampled it, and in some cases, for those who just helped themselves to it! Bellas door was always open to everyone. Bella enjoyed the beauty of flowers which was evident in her yard and gardens that she proudly displayed. She is survived by her children, Eva Lavallee of Winnipeg, Ray (Susan) Erickson of Lundar, Joyce (Bob) Klassen of Lundar, Val Erickson and Bob Montague of Vanderhoof, BC, Lorne (Chrissie) of Lundar; her sisters, Clara, Harriet and Eva; her brothers, Norman, George, John and Joe; her grandchildren, Danny, Lisa, Candace, Curtis, Dayna, Cody, Kyle, Derek, Heidi, Jill, Taryn, Sara, Brooke and Keevin; a daughter-in-law, Rakel Erickson and her family, along with numerous other family members. Bella was predeceased by her husband John; parents, Fred and Helen; brothers, Tom, Albert and Felix; along with an infant brother, Clifford; and a step-son, John. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7 at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Service will conclude at the Church with cremation to follow at a later date. Pallbearers will be Derek Klassen, Collin Erickson, Erik Erickson, Thor Erickson, Jim Lavallee and Claude Foster. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff in Eriksdale and the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg for the wonderful care they gave to our Mom.
