Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS EMMA OLIVER On January 2, 2002, Mrs. Doris Emma Oliver (nee Manchester) of Heffley Creek passed away at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her loving family, son Harold (Marilyn) and grandchildren, Angela and Ben; daughter Lillian (Charles) Rodrigue; brothers, Russell Manchester and family of Calgary and John (Mae) Manchester and family of Winnipeg; sister Sadie (Bill) Crockatt and family of Stonewall, MB; also nieces and nephews in Victoria, BC. Doris was predeceased by husband Cyril B. Oliver on June 15, 1983; mother and father, Walter and Katie Manchester; and sister-in-law Edna Manchester. Doris was born June 18, 1914, in Winnipeg, MB, and was raised in Warren, MB. She met and married Cyril in Winnipeg and together they moved back to Warren where they raised their children. The family all moved to British Columbia in 1969, settling in Heffley Creek. There she realized her dream of owning a dog kennel, the Heath Kennel Doggie Motel, which she owned for many years. She was an active member of the Heffley Creek Community Hall. In the latter years she enjoyed her yard, garden and a good game of cards with friends and neighbours. Her real joy was her grandchildren. A special thank you to Drs. Meredith, Stefanyk and Newhouse and the nurses on 7 South, RIH. Also a special thank you to her friends and neighbours. Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour St., with Reverend Vern Frudd officiating. If friends desire donations to the BC Lung Association, P.O. Box 34009 Stn. D, Vancouver, BC, V6J 9Z9, in memory of Doris would be appreciated.
