JAMES (JIM) HRIZAI Suddenly on Thursday, January 3, 2002, Jim passed away at age 57 years, at the Concordia Hospital. He was predeceased by his only brother Don, his mother Ann, his father John and by his dog Coco. He leaves to mourn his two sons, Jamie (Koreen), and Christopher of Winnipeg, his daughter Laurie of Largo, FL; grandsons, Durham and Halem and granddaughter Elise, as well as many close relatives and friends. Jim was born in Winnipeg, growing up in Southside Transcona, later residing in East Kildonan and St. Vital. He spent much of his youth hanging around Southside and downtown Transcona and had many stories to share. Jim worked at CP Rail from May 4, 1966 to November 1, 1999 when he happily retired. There were many fond memories of his years at CP and the guys he worked with. Jim spent most of his vacations and retirement at his cottage in Falcon Lake, where he enjoyed fishing and relaxing with his dog. He loved being at the lake and took pleasure in the hours he spent in the boat as well as the times spent watching his grandsons play. He was fond of watching TV and picked up many great recipes that friends and family were quick to test. Everyone will remember his sense of humour and the way he could talk for hours about "old times". Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Fr. Ed Bonin officiating. Burial at the Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jims memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. "Nothing can ever take away The love family and friends hold dear. Memories will linger every day, Remembrance will keep him near."
