GISELE (JIGGS) HENRY October 1, 1934 - January 3, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gisele Henry, who was taken from us in the early morning of January 3, 2002, after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. Gisele died peacefully in her sleep at the Saint Boniface Hospital. Gisele is survived by her husband of 49 years Edward; her sons, Robert (Beverly), Dave and friend Christine Carpenter, Gary (Christine) and grandchildren, Amanda and Scott, Christopher, Deanne and Marc, Fred, Christopher and Kelly. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Bernadette Emond, Audrey Mackenzie, Lucy Egan (Dick), Angie Bucknell (Art), Fernande Caley and Anita Fyfe (Jim) her brother Rollie Gosselin (Vickie) and sister-in-law Marion Gosselin, many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Fabie Tremblay (Rolland), Albina Gosselin and Terry Gorman (John) her brothers, Lou Gosselin (Mildred) and Joe Gosselin; her brothers-in-law, Ernie Emond, Howie Mackenzie and Bob Caley. Gisele was born in Winnipeg and raised in the West End on Bannatyne Avenue. She met and fell in love with Ed and became his wife at the young age of 18. Gisele was the proud mother of three boys by the time she reached the age of 22. She was a dedicated loving wife and mother. Gisele loved to get together with her brothers and sisters to socialize and play cards. She managed to find the time as a young mother to become a proficient bowler, wining many trophies and awards. She was an excellent knitter and took great pleasure in giving her knitted goods to family and friends. In her retirement years Gisele loved to watch television and movies and especially enjoyed her casino bus trips with her sisters and the "Eatons Gang". It was very important to Gisele that she share one last Christmas Eve with her sons and their families. Giseles tremendous desire and will to do so, made it happen. We will be forever grateful for this last wonderful gift she gave us. Her passing has left a deep void in our family and she will be forever remembered, loved and missed. In accordance with Giseles wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private family interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Flowers gratefully declined. If family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Giseles memory to Riverview Health Care Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, R3L 2P4. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
