WILLIAM RICHMOND LAW Peacefully on January 5, 2002 William Richmond Law passed away at the West Park Manor Personal Care Home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy and his sons, William H. Law (DJ Petola) and Robert R. Law (Gisele). He was predeceased by his sister Norma R. Law and his parents, William A. Law and Annie Richmond Law. Dad was born on April 11, 1919, growing up in the River Heights area, attending Kelvin High School. He developed an entrepreneurial spirit early in his life and this carried on throughout. He spent his working life in the shoe business travelling extensively throughout western Canada by train and car, establishing close personal relationships with many of his customers. If Dad had a motto in life it was not to be afraid to challenge it. These challenges include establishing in partnerships with other shoe associates, Richmond Shoe Store in Brandon, Regina and with his son Bob in Winnipeg. His success in the shoe business and his knowledge of investing in the stock market allowed him to retire at 57 years of age and enjoy the remainder of his life travelling with "Dode". Dad and Moms close personal relationship with Harold and Kay Baldner led them to fun challenges such as the Big Whiteshell, Sioux Narrows, Hawaii and Florida. Sioux Narrows became the Law familys little bit of heaven, and Dads spirit will forever be entrenched there with all the changes he accomplished on the property. His motto of "you have to challenge the lake" echos every day spent out on the Lake of the Woods. His attention to details even carried forward in his remaining years as he prepared for his last challenge. It is with respect to his wishes that no service be held and cremation has taken place. The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation for the support of friends and very specifically to Dr. J.D. McDowell of the Winnipeg Clinic for his care of Dad for many years. A very special thank you to all the staff of the West Park Manor Personal Care Home for your kindness and loving care. You are all very special people. Donations in his memory can be made to the Salvation Army, 500-55 Donald St. Winnipeg, R3C 1L8. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
