MARIA BUGERA (KIS)

MARIA BUGERA (nee KIS) It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother. She went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2002 at the age of 94 years. She was born August 19, 1907 in the Ukraine and came to Canada at the age of five years old, living in the Vita area. After she married, she spent the rest of her life in Arbakka on the farm, which she enjoyed. Her greatest joys were her garden, flowers, and farm animals. Her quiet times were spent reading Ukrainian storybooks. Maria leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Ann Huskie, Frances (Mike) Kiansky, Helen (Gordie) Keith, Marilyn (Paul) Marynowski; her sons, Nick (Dolores), Joe (Lillian), Mike (Marian), Steve (Antionette), Bill (Elise) and daughter-in-law Ann. She will be sadly missed by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1970; her son Peter in 2002; four brothers, Mike, Steve, Joe, Nick; her sister Ann Turick; and son-in-law Harry. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 8, 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Vita, MB with Father Ihor Royik officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Marias memory may be made to Vita & District Personal Care Home or a charity of your choice.
