Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HENRY FREDERICK BROADFOOT On Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital, George Henry Frederick Broadfoot, aged 83 years, of Woodlands, MB, died peacefully. He is survived by devoted wife Vera (Vi) three children, Mary Ann (Lloyd), Scott (Muriel), Carolyn (Bill) six grandchildren, Melanie (Shawn), Lorne, Tiffany (Curtis), Chalsee (Paul), Chantal (Mark), Michelle; and six great-grandchildren, Kelly, Trenton, Travis, Macy, Nicholas and Delaney; also his brother John (Nina) sister Helen (Jack) Sutton; sister-in-law Jennie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Lena; his brother Pat; sister Mary; and an infant granddaughter. George was born August 1, 1918, on the Broadfoot homestead in Woodlands. He worked on the farm and in the general store until he joined the Navy in 1940. George served in the Navy throughout the Second World War in the North Atlantic High Seas and Mediterranean. While in the service he met Vera (Warren) whom he married in 1946 at Alert Bay, BC. They returned to Woodlands where they raised their family, operating the General Store and Post Office. As one of Jehovahs Witnesses, he spent time sharing his Bible based hope with his friends and neighbours. Friends may call on Friday, January 11 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. A private family interment will take place prior to the service. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Woodlands Community Hall. Jeff Navarro will officiate. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
