Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTHER CHAPMAN With deep sadness and love, we said a final good bye to a most cherished wife, mother, baba, sister, and auntie, Esther Chapman on January 7, 2002, at the age of 81 years. After a timely battle and a very valiant fight, surrounded by her loving children, Baba left us very peacefully to once again be with her husband by his side. Esther was predeceased by her loving husband Sydney Israel; parents; brothers; sisters; and other close relatives. She leaves to mourn her seven children, Barry (Martha), Lynne (Neil), Carol (George), Larry, Adrianne (David), Molly (Paul), Beth (Hal) and her many adoring grandchildren, Tasia, Melina, Alex, Heather, Sheena, Miranda, Myles, Evan, Harlan, Karmel, Bryer and Eron. She also leaves to mourn her passing sister Sara, and brother Dave; nieces and nephews, and many others whose lives she fondly touched. Esther was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on October 30, 1920. In her early years she worked at Perfect Fit Glove Factory where she met and soon after married her devoted husband Sydney. She devoted her life to raising and providing never-ending love to her husband and their seven children. Her family was her life; not only her husband; children, and grandchildren; but also her sisters; brothers; nieces; nephews; and close friends. In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task in courage Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. So He put His arms around you, And whispered "Come to Me". So when we saw you sleeping So peaceful from pain, We could not wish you back To suffer again. Many thanks to all staff on 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for all their gentle care. The graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park. Forever in our hearts; the unconditional love you so willingly gave will never be forgotten. A Mothers love is something That no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion And of sacrifice and pain.
