She was predeceased by her husband George in 1976 and by her daughter Dorothea in 1983. Lillian was born and raised at Forrest, MB. After marrying George Fraser in 1939, she first lived at Westbourne where she devoted herself to raising her twin children as well as caring for numerous family and neighbourhood children. During those years, she was an avid curler and card player, and took great joy in fishing on the weekends with her family. The Frasers moved to Brandon in 1955, where Lillian resided until January 2001 when she moved to Thorvaldson Care Center in Winnipeg. In Brandon, her capacity for caring for others was expressed in her work at the Assiniboine Centre of the General Hospital and later, while residing at Lions Manor, her leisure-time enjoyment was watching curling, baseball, and figure skating. Above all, she was a woman of great poise, dignity, and intense feeling and will be remembered fondly by friends and family members for these qualities. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Thorvaldson Care Center and to Joyce Gorzen for her unfailing support and tending, especially during this last year. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11 at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg.
