GLENN E. GUINN (SPUD) April 15, 1927 - January 6, 2002 Dad has left us after a courageous battle at the St. Boniface Hospital. He was the epitome of his heritage, "the fighting Irish". Glenn, more affectionately known as "Spud", was born in Neepawa, MB and moved to Pine Falls as a young man. He found employment with the Abitibi Paper Company where he worked for 44 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy (nee Lavallee). Together they had four children, David of Parksville, BC (Mark and Cari), Valerie and Brian Rupert of Kenora (Michelle, Tricia, Jamie), Cathy and Paul Gauthier of Powerview (Dana and Paige), Janet and Kevin Alarie of Powerview (Haley and Madison). Also surviving is his sister Margaret Blue and her family of Winnipeg and his mother-in-law Anne Lavallee of Powerview, MB. Spud loved the sun and sand and he cherished his summers at Wanasing Beach... who needs Hawaii. He was a familiar face at the Legion Branch No. 64 and will be remembered for his mischievous humour, his individual spirit, especially his daily rituals. The family would like to express their appreciation to all those genuinely kind people who cared for Dad. The familiar words of Spud say it best, "this is his last game ball". Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Spuds life will be held on Thursday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m., from the Pine Falls United Church, with Rev. Bonita Garrett officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Spuds memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. RUSSELL FUNERAL HOMES LTD & CREMATORIUM of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements. 1-866-424-6271 (toll free) or 268-2263.
