Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKLARA EMMA CHRISTINA ORMSHAW On Tuesday, January 8, 2002 in Ile des Chenes, MB, Klara Emma Christina Ormshaw passed away. Klara Emma Christina Ormshaw was born on August 10, 1917 in Riverland, MB to Karl Johan (K.J.) and Anna Erickson. She spoke fondly of her childhood and school days and even her jobs as mothers helpers and housekeepers in Lac du Bonnet and Bissett in her early years. Her brother Herb paid to put her through Business College and she put that education to good use. She worked for The Bay, Monarch Wear and for the City of Winnipeg (Taxation Branch) for 25 years. She retired happily and planned to spend a lot more time at Riverland. Travel was also important to Mom, memories of four trips to Sweden were very precious, the last trip being in 2000 to attend a nephews wedding. Moms vision began to give her trouble four years ago and was almost nonexistent of late, but she never complained. Retirement years allowed Mom to spend time at the cabin in Riverland, volunteer at Fred Douglas Lodge and visit her sister regularly at Oakview Place and most importantly help out her family by babysitting, dog sitting, house sitting and generally being a kind, loving and caring person to us all. Klara was predeceased by her parents, Karl (K.J.) and Anna Erickson; her beloved husband Bill; brothers, Herb and Carl; as well as sisters, Annie and Gladys; and her son-in-law William Ashton; and her infant great-grandson John Aaron Froese. She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Riege (Gerry Willis), granddaughter Karen Froese (Rick), great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Cameron; and a stepdaughter Muriel Ashton, granddaughter Cindy Bernard (Bob), children, David and Kristi, granddaughter Elizabeth Scoular (Pat), children, Ashleigh and Jamie; stepson Earl Ormshaw (Joyce), granddaughter Heather Pratt (Dave), and children, Katie and Marissa of Prince George, BC. Klara was also loved by her sisters, Kay Brown of Winnipeg and Ingrid Iversen of Surrey, BC; as well as nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. Everyone was welcome to come and honour the life of our beloved Mom, Momma, Grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. from the Shaughnessy United Church, 1493 Magnus Ave., Winnipeg, MB, with Rev.
