Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGWYNETH KIRKWOOD It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Gwyneth Kirkwood at the St. Boniface Hospital on January 10, 2002. Gwen was born in Comberbach, England in 1920. She was predeceased by her parents, Marion and Thomas Barker, sister Minnie Heath, brother Emrys and husband Robert. Left to cherish her memory are her niece Marion Benoit, sister-in-law Betty (Edward) Benoit and Elaine (Harold) Emerson of Kamloops, B.C. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews both in England and Canada. Gwen immigrated to Canada in 1947. She started her employment in Toronto where she met her husband Bob. They returned to Winnipeg and were married September 25, 1950. She worked for several years with Thomas Cook Travel Agencies and with the Provincial Parks Branch until her retirement in 1984. A memorial service celebrating Gwens life will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. with Rev. Dr. Sharon Wilson officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care. Special thanks are extended to her good friends Audrey Gardner and family and Eileen Steck who were always there for her.
