WILFRED A. TOURAND 1905-2002 With deep sorrow, our family announces the passing of our "Daddy", Grandpa, Great-Grandfather and Great Great Grandfather at the Deer Lodge Centre, January 11, 2002. He was predeceased by his wife Pearl Tourand; daughter Lillian Grant; grandchildren Gaylene Starr, Delores Grant, Richard Starr, Larry Grant and Gary Grant. Also his brothers, Edmoe, Leo (Irene), Ernest (Loria), Paul (Rosa), Pat (Lydia), Bill (Emma) and sisters Dorothy, Rosa, Anna and Bell. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Irene St. Pierre of St. George, Manitoba; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. Wilfred was born in La Broquerie, Manitoba to parents Marie and Joseph Tourand. He lived in Pine Falls prior to The Second World War and was employed with the Abitibi Paper Company for the next 10 years, retiring in 1971 at the age of 65. Grandpa was a wonderful person and loved his family dearly. He was always there to help those in need. He had a great sense of humour and was always telling jokes. His positive outlook on life made it a pleasure to spend time with him. He was a challenging Cribbage and Skip-Boo player. You were always welcome anytime to his home to play a game or just visit. A heartfelt thanks goes out to Gwen Leche, RN and the staff at T-5 Deer Lodge Centre for providing excellent care and attention and making Grandpa feel as comfortable as possible during the past year. Prayers and open viewing will be held at Voyage Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, January 16 between 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Voyage Funeral Chapel with reception to follow.
