PETER HRABCHAK With heavy hearts and much sadness we announce the passing of Peter Hrabchak, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 13, 2002 at the age of 75 years. Peter will be greatly missed by his family and all those that had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his wife Rose (nee Melnyk), whom he married on July 18, 1959; their three children, Marie (Gerhard) and their children, Richard, Cori-Lynn, Shilesa; Garry (Sylvia) and son Garrett; and Ellen (Bob) and son Robert Jr.; as well as sisters, Mary (Bill) Boyechko, Pauline (Thomas) Doyle; brother James Hrabchak; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents,John and Ann; sisters, Helen, Sophie, and Lena; and brothers, Harry and Mike. Peter was born in Sarto, MB, and moved to Winnipeg as a young man where he raised his family. He worked for Stern Trucks for 39 years, from 1949 till his retirement in 1988. Dad was a very kind man, full of fun. He liked to joke around and make us laugh. His grandkids always went to him, knowing that he would spend time with them, just playing and having a good time. He was a very "giving" person, always considering others before himself, always there for his kids, helping out however he could. Dad liked to visit with us in the city or out on the farm, and was always interested to hear what we were doing. Dads family was his life. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Loewen Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 12 South in Steinbach, followed by funeral services on Thursday, January 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church at Sarto, with Rev. Fr. Ihor Royik officiating. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery. We Love You Dad Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, (204) 326-1351.
