OLIVE (OLGA) ALEX Peacefully, after a long illness, on Monday, January 14, 2002 at Concordia Hospital, Olive Alex passed away at the age of 86. Olive was predeceased by her husband Bill; brothers, Norman and John and sister Mary. She is survived by the close family members who gave her care over the four years of her declining health; grandsons, Chris and Kevyn; daughter-in-law Gayle Alex; nephew Frank and Tina Alexander. She is also survived by her brother Walter and several nieces and nephews. Olive is survived as well by a son Bryan. Many thanks to the Pruner family, Myrna, Norma, Jim and Bernie (now deceased) for their friendship and support these many years. Thanks to Home Care service for their excellent care. Olive was born on February 22, 1915 in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End. She worked in sales at Kern Hill Co-Op and Manitoba Furniture stores. Cremation, upon her request, has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers the family would gratefully appreciate a donation in memory of Olive to the Canadian Liver Foundation (Manitoba Chapter) 654-9165.
