WILLIAM (BILL) DAWES Bill passed away quietly December 26, 2001 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, ON after a lengthy battle with cancer. Norm, as he was known to his close family, was born July 7, 1931 in Winnipeg. At the age of 16 he left home to try his hand at homestead farming in Manitobas Interlake region. In 1957 he moved to Keewatin, ON. He was employed at the Kenora paper mill for 32 years until his retirement in 1991. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife Doris and his stepchildren, Brian Bellemare and Brenda (Bob) Stewart. He is survived by two sisters; several nieces and nephews and by sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Dieter) Wagnar and family of Winnipeg and Lorraine Bady and family of Victoria, B.C. A memorial service was held Thursday, January 3. Bills family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Dr. M. Workman for their kindness and care during his illness.
