WILLIAM JOSEPH UHRYN September 20, 1917 - January 15, 2002 It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dad and grandpa at the age of 84 years. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Doreen (Willy) Kaltenthaler and Brenda (Don) Gulchak; grandchildren, Cindy (Bruce) Harrison, Dean (Gayle) Kaltenthaler, Will Jr. (Debbie) Kaltenthaler, Cade (Stacey) Kaltenthaler, Daniel (Tanya) Gulchak of Phoenix, AZ and Lorissa (Jarrett) Dong of Calgary, AB; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Courtney Harrison, Leanna and Shane Kaltenthaler and Ashley Kaltenthaler. He is survived by sisters, Sophie Makahaniuk and Mary Pennycook of Kelowna, BC and Nellie Uhryn of Winnipeg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Wasyl (1950), mother Emilea (1968) sisters, Minnie (1938), Lillian (1987) brothers, Steve (1975), Henry (1994) and Fred (1996). Dad retired from Allied Farm Equipment in 1982. Dads first love was for his children and grandchildren. He was a very compassionate, caring and sensitive man. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He showed us the importance of faith, Gods love and the true value of family and togetherness. For this, we will always be grateful. The family gratefully thanks Dr. Ray Singer for his compassion and loving care and the caring staff of 5 north at Victoria Hospital. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18 at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, also at the church, with Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating. Interment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Daniel Gulchak, Dean, Will Jr. and Cade Kaltenthaler, Bruce Harrison, and Allen Kauenhofen.
