ALDO TAGLIAFERRI Peacefully, on Thursday, January 17, 2002 at Deer Lodge Centre, Aldo Tagliaferri, at the age of 77 years. Aldo was predeceased by his parents, Domenico, 1974, and Anna, 1989. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Maria; sons, Robert (Margaret Anne), Rick and Mario; grandchildren, Justin and Joel; brothers, Nino, Remo, Mario; sisters, Bianca, Lina and Maria; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nonno was born December 26, 1924 in Casala Valsegno, Italy. His first years away from home were spent mining in Belgium before immigrating to Canada in 1954. Dad spent a few years in Rouyn Noranda and Montreal, PQ before settling in Winnipeg. In 1986, after many years in the local construction trade and as a maintenance employee of the Grace Hospital, he retired. He loved spending time at the family cottage in Belair, especially in the garden; had a passion for fishing and travelled extensively after his retirement. The family wishes to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre, Lodge 7, for their loving care and kindness during this difficult time. Pallbearers will be Tim Bohun, John Dunsmore, Tony Zarrillo, Andrea Zarrillo, Justin Tagliaferri and Joel Tagliaferri. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery with a reception at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
