SIDNEY JAMES GRIFFIN Peacefully on January 17, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather entered into rest at the age of 77 years. Dad leaves to mourn his loving children, Russell (Debbie), Bruce (Nelene), Wayne (Carol), Rhonda (Tony Sr.), Hedy (Graham Sr.), Gary (Myrna), Bonnie (Laurie), Peggy (Sunny) grandchildren, Jamie, Leonard, Jessie, Shawn, Megan, Cory, Carla, Mike, Chris, Les, Tony Jr., Christina, Tanya, Trudy, Graham Jr., Dean, Joey, Les, Candace, Ben, Kara, Daly; and many great-grandchildren; as well as his golf buddy, brother-in-law Harry Munroe and his wife Olive. He also leaves behind many cousins and other relatives. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Tony in June of 1999 and also by his sister Jean in Australia. Dad was cherished and loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all. Dad and Mom spent their retirement years enjoying time with their friends in Canada and the U.S., while travelling to their winter home in Texas. In accordance with Dads wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Sidney to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. The Griffin family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the HSC for all their excellent care. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
