MICHAEL MITCHELL YUNDAK Peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2002 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Michael Yundak passed away in his 94th year. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Mary (nee Zawidoski) sisters, Kay, Gladys, and Mary; brothers, Charles, Peter, and William. His memory will be cherished by his loving sons, Roy, and George (Sandra) grandchildren, David, Timothy, and Sarah; and many dear relatives in Winnipeg and the U.S.A. Michael, with his homesteading Ukrainian family, toughed out the early years in Broad Valley, MB, before arriving in Winnipeg where he achieved a Science Degree in 1931. Other than a brief career as a chemist at Canada Packers, he worked with muscular passion as a carpenter, and housebuilder. With his pioneer vigor, generosity, sense of humour, and handyman talents, Michael was truly a good man. Despite many difficult, and arduous times, he embraced the challenges, and beauty of life with boundless energy, and inspiration. In his retirement, landscape painting, and brisk walks were his wonderful medicine. According to Michaels wishes, cremation has taken place with no memorial service. Private family interment at a later date. Special gratitude to Dr. P. Patel, nurses, and staff of Seven Oaks, and Timmalee Thompson, for their care and compassion. If desired, donations in Michaels memory may be made to the Heart or Kidney Foundations. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 1020 MAIN STREET 582-0973
