JOHN "JACK" MACK JACQUES It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Jack on Thursday, January 17, 2002 after a brief battle with cancer. Jack is survived by his loving wife Agnes, of 55 years; his seven children, Brian (Heather), Rick (Shirley), Barbara (Gary) Miller, Judy (Paddy) McConville, Patti (Donald) Lambert, Doug (Maureen) and Frank. He also leaves to mourn his 15 grandchildren, Sharleen, Cheryl, Shannon, Kristi, Cory, Lee, Kevin, Scott, Christopher (Marlo), Trevor, Ivan, Jessie, Paul, Krystal and Kyle, as well as his sister Dorothy (John) Bissett; brother Ron (Marsha) sisters-in-law, Veronica Jacques, Margaret Charles, and Jenny Fardy; brother-in-law Peter Whitehill and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Sarah; sister Peggy; and brother Stewart. Jack was born and raised in St. Boniface. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the army and served with the Fifth Canadian Armoured Division Overseas. Upon return, he met and married Agnes Whitehill and together they raised seven children. Jack was employed by the Manitoba Telephone System for 37 years, where he made numerous life-long friends, and retired in 1984. He was a life member of the Norwood Legion Branch No. 43. In his younger years, Jack enjoyed curling, fishing and was an avid billiard player. A memorial service celebrating Jacks life will be held at Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. on Monday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba Foundation Inc. In care of arrangements: EDWARD J.
