ARTHUR JOSEPH SCHELFAUT Passed away, peacefully, on January 20, 2002, at home. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, wife of 65 years Melba; daughter Joan (Owen) granddaughter Lori (Noel), great - granddaughter Desiree, grandson Randy (Ardith) great-grandsons, Gordon, Donald and Richard. Also remembered by special family friend Audry and many good friends and neighbours. Born on January 29, 1919, Art or "Gramps", as he was affectionately known, was the ideal family man. He was the patriarch of the family and took great pride in caring for all of his family. Grandpa worked 31 years for Canada Malting Co. as a Millwright. He was a skilled carpenter and could skillfully build or repair anything. He was an avid sports fan, great fisherman and outdoorsman. Arthur will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Interment will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in Arthurs memory may be made to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
