CORNELIUS (NEIL) VRIENS March 22, 1911 - January 19, 2002 Peacefully, with a loved one by his side, Neil passed into the hands of the Lord, to be reunited with his loving wife Millie who predeceased him April 10, 2000. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving extended family and friends. Neil was a mechanic for many years and even after his retirement put his mechanical skills to work maintaining his own vehicle. He was an avid bowler and successful at winning quite a few trophies which he so proudly displayed. Neil enjoyed talking about his bowling to everyone. Being and active person, he soon discovered the joy of lapidary and attended weekly classes. There he was able to take dull stones, polish them and create beautiful jewellery pieces for his wife. He truly enjoyed this pastime. Neil also spent his retirement years travelling with Millie in their camper. He had fond memories of the many trips through the states and all over Manitoba. A very special thank you to all the wonderful and compassionate caregivers and staff of unit 1 at the River East Personal Care Home for their excellent care. Cremation has already taken place.
